Our Official Top 10 Short Films of 2020!!

So guys, we've come to the end of a pretty grim year, but despite these trying times, we've been blessed to discover some incredible work from some visionary artists in front of and behind the camera.


As we tick-tock the final moments of 2020, we decided to share some of the highlights of the films we've reviewed this year in the form of a top 10. And because we don't want to have all the fun, we've shared them with you down below. Each film is accompanied by a link to read our full review so please check those out.

10. ONE MINUTE TIME MACHINE

Dir: Devon Avery


Premise:

Every time the beautiful Regina rejects his advances, James pushes a red button and tries again, all the while unaware of the reality and consequences of his actions.


9. HUNGRY JOE

Dir: Paul Holbrook & Sam Dawe


Premise:

A single mother struggles to bond with her apathetic child; born with an insatiable and increasingly inhumane appetite.


8. BEVERLEY

Dir: Alexander Thomas


Premise:

This period racial drama follows the identity struggles of a mixed-race teenager who moves to white suburbia. Her fight to fit in with the local gang leads to devastating consequences.


7. CTRL Z

Dir: James Kennedy


Premise:

A Science Fiction Romantic Comedy.

An adventure through time begins in a greasy Manchester cafe, when Ed; a hopeless in love inventor, creates a device that allows him to undo time. With unlimited chances he has hopes of impressing the girl of his dreams, but that's not as easy as it sounds.

With his best friend Carrie by his side he must fight to undo the past and get the girl.


6. SUCCESSFUL ALCOHOLICS

Dir: Jordan Vogt-Roberts


Premise:

A couple that are very successful in their jobs and at the same time have a drinking problem try to manage their love life, their social life and their jobs.


5. LOVE, DEATH & ROBOTS: BEYOND THE AQUILA RIFT

Premise:

Awakening after traveling light years off course, a ship's crew struggles to discover just how far they've come.

4. MY BROTHER JORDAN

Dir: Justin Robinson


Premise:

Four years after Jordan's death, Justin set out on an 8-year journey to bring his brother's story to life. With the help of 102 interviews and 300+ home videotapes, equalling 450+ hours of footage, "My Brother Jordan" chronicles Jordan's life and death and paints the bond of brotherhood between Jordan and Justin Robinson.

Premise:

Geeky Pavan takes his 'English Rose' on a date to the most authentic Indian restaurant in the city. To his horror she goes off-menu, in Hindi...


2. THE KARMAN LINE

Dir: Oscar Sharp


Premise:

A woman contracts an unusual condition that causes her to rise gradually into the air, as her husband and daughter struggle to cope.


1. THE NEIGHBORS' WINDOW

Dir: Marshall Curry


Premise:

The Neighbors' Window tells the story of a mother who has grown frustrated with her husband and her daily routine. But her life is shaken up when two free-spirited twenty-somethings move in across the street and she discovers that she can see into their apartment.
